Merry Christmas!

The Gilbert's Are Coming

Prepare yourselves...

A Nashville Christmas Adventure

Twas a week before Christmas, and all through the car,
Josh packed the snacks for their trip down afar.
Jamie was singing a carol off-key,
While Maren proclaimed, “It’s MY turn to pee!”

Silas was squished in the back with a grin,
Elbows from Elliana jabbing his chin.
“Are we there yet?” echoed, not once but a ton,
The family road trip chaos had officially begun.

Poor Frida, the dog, watched from the door,
Her big puppy eyes pleading, “Take me, I implore!”
But alas, her tail wag was left in the dust,
As she stayed with the sitter, resigned but robust.

Through snow-laden highways and gas station stops,
They wrestled with maps and sipped soda pops.
Josh played the captain, all serious and stern,
While Jamie just laughed when they missed the wrong turn.

Maren declared every truck stop a gem,
And Silas invented new games to torment them.
Elliana was queen of the backseat’s domain,
Throwing goldfish like confetti while claiming her reign.

The car was a circus, a real festive mess,
With candy cane wrappers and mild GPS stress.
But as Nashville lights sparkled ahead in the night,
The chaos gave way to a feeling just right.

They burst through the door to a warm family cheer,
“Welcome to Nashville! It’s so good you’re here!”
Cousins and uncles and grandmas abound,
Hugs, gifts, and stories went quickly around.

Meanwhile, back home, Frida plotted her plight,
With the sitter distracted, she barked through the night.
“Next year,” she vowed with a doggy-like glee,
“I’m riding shotgun, just wait and see!”

So here’s to the madness, the laughs, and the fun,
A Nashville adventure for everyone.
Merry Christmas to all, both human and pup,
And to Frida: we promise, we won’t mess this up! 🎄🐾
